By Mary Shelley

Frankenstein is one of the key texts in modern literature, it was written by Mary Shelley in 1818.
I don't know if I should describe the novel this way, but this novel is mysterious, thrilling, violent, sad, but beautiful at the same time. The mysterious about it was Victor Frankenstein, the monster creator, grew up in a perfectly loving family, he was trying to create a human life, trying to take the role of God, but end up with a monster. The monster was tempted to kill, because he wants revenge, his childlike mind is angry, and he thinks killing is the best way to revenge on Victor. The sweet part about this movie is the friendships between characters. The monster was trying to make friends with De Lacey family by doing small chores, learning words, he was watching the way they love each other, he wished he could be loved like the family, because he has no family or home. He wasn't a heartless monster as he should be. But, in the end he is still alone.
I was surprised I actually enjoyed reading this book, I like how Mary Shelly connected all the emotional elements together, from mysterious to beautiful. It was...catchy. I found this novel familiar when I was reading it. The story was in a lot of movies that I watched. Van Helsing was one of them, I even have the DVD...
